Where did 2014 go?

Surely I'm not the only person who feels as though they have I've slept for to long and ended up at New Years Eve? I mean, i still feel excited for Christmas..

My family and i went away on a surprise holiday over the Christmas period and only just got home today. Again, i cant believe after all the anticipation, its already over. We did a 2 short nights of touristy attractions in Sydney before jumping onto a cruise. It was lovely to sit back and relax with no mobile reception, no call, texts or internet meant some quality family time.

So, my lovelies, here's to the year that was and the year that is to come. May it bring you the peace, love and happiness you deserve and that you spend tonight with those that mean most to you.

Thank you for your support and cant wait to tell you all about my celebrations tonight!

Midweek Lunch Date

Today was a lunch date with my gal pal Maddie. My outfit was altered a million times because Melbourne couldn't decide if it wanted to be summer or winter.

I went with a Cotton On scallop tank in cash blue and Uniqlo legging jeans, seriously the best jeans I have ever owned! They are so tight and fitted and even after washes they have not faded. My Bardot waterfall jacket with leather trim and zip details was also a must, it has been a go to jacket for a while now.

What jacket do you love when winter makes an appearance? xx

Hair care loving

Recently I got my year old ombre revamed and I am now devited to giving it some TLC.

My creamy blonde ends can get thirsty so i use a purple shampoo and condition from an Australian company Marc Daniels to not only tone it to maintain the perfect colour but hydrate it with the blue cypress with which it is infused with.

Now depending on how my week has been (have i straightened it/used product or has my natural hair cooperated?) it determines what treatment i use.
Hair & Me is actually produced by my lovely hairdresser which is COMPLETELY natural, which i absolutely love! This treatment is used before the shower and sits in a top knot for 40 minutes. The only downside to this product is that with it being oil based i never know if i have used too much or not enough!
On the other hand, the Dove Heat Defence is an after conditioning treatment and brushing my long hair is a breeze afterwards and my ends are beautiful.

Let me know what products you are loving at the moment darlings xx

Im back!!

Hello my lovelies,

Im so sorry for the disappearing act! Like i have previously mentioned my life has been a crazy rollercoster the last few months but it is finally settling down and im finding my happiness again.

I feel like informing you about something personal but i think it does need more attention. During my time away i was diagnosed with Scoliosis. Scoli-what?

The photo above shows a 30 degree  curvature in my spine! What?! Crazy right?! Im lucky enough that unless you concentrate on my walk/hips you cant notice that i am any different, which means i can go back to enjoying fashion and beauty without any issues.

So the main thing is, IM BACK! And cant wait to share the things i am loving with you :)

Lipsticks Of The Week

Hello everybody!

Again, i'd just like to apologise for my lack of posting but i am slowly getting back on track.

So, today's post is my lipsticks of the week! And yes, week. I have literally been rotating through each lipstick for the last couple of weeks and i can not get enough of them.

As you can see, they are mainly drugstore/Priceline bought, except for the Lipstick Queen which was a little more pricey.

Moving left to right:
L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche 374 Intense Plum
I absolutely love this colour and texture. As the cover suggests it is best suited to Brunettes and it does bring out my darker features. With the plum base i do have to be a bit selective with what outfit i match it with.

Maybelline New York ColourSensation 602 Beige Rose
This is such a natural and shiny addition to the natural colour of my lips. I generally pop it on when my outfit is casual and it has been a major pick me up when my hair isn't cooperating, which does happen oftern.

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate 07
The best nude colour in my collection. Period. It is so beautiful, last's all day with only a few touch ups and it complements my olive skin tone perfectly. The colour is a lot more intense then the Maybelline nude and has more of a pink undertone.

Lipstick Queen by Poppy Wine Sinner
My favourite colour for the evening! It is more of a matte shade but it doesn't dry out my lips which is exactly what you want and because it is more of a red base it tends to match with a lot of my outfits.

Alison Wonderland Review

Lately, i have been in love with an Australian DJ, Alison Wonderland. After some serious stalking of her social sites i found that she was playing at Billboards in Melbourne CBD and instantly my girlfriends and I bought tickets.

I know i have previously posted about my love of the city but it was an amazing night. Drinking at the Asian Beet Cafe walking to the club, catching the wrong tram, dancing till my feet were in so much pain i collapsed and getting McDonalds on the way home.

I can admit that Alisons music is not for everyone and some of her songs dont appeal to me. However, the atmosphere and hard hitting dirty beats absolutely engulf you. She remixs the old school tunes and get the room jumping with bass hitting through your chest with songs like 'do you like drugs?' and 'i want u'.

Definately check her sound cloud, highly recommended.

But first coffee

My life has literally been a rollercoster.

I have been so busy, so stressed and so sore that life has been a totally drag. I havent made time for anything that I love, so i will be making a few medical appointments to clear everything up and get myself better.

Coffee has been my life line to get through everything! I am in love with an Organic Decaf that use for coffee at home but when im out a cap is the way.

Miss. Manners is not Miss-mannered

Friday night was an absolute memorising exerience as i sat wide eyed at Wicked The Musical. But i found it quite difficult to look past all the people disrespecting theater etiquette, which i believed was just a given.
I just wanted to give my beautiful readers a few simple tips and tricks of having fun, looking fabulous and allowing all those around you enjoy the experience too.

Theater tips and tricks
- Dress to impress, heals (boots with heals in this melbounre winter are a must), shirts and coats and impeccable hair.
- Phones go off. Not on silent, we dont want to hear that very noticable vibrating sound. Please turning the brighteness down down not make everything okay gals. Disconnecting is not only good for your health sometimes its nice not to be reachable.
- When it comes to purchasing your half time snacks at the bar, choose wisely. The crackle and crinkle of wrapper sounds is a very unwanted distraction to the beautiful story line.
- When the bells sound to take your seats, take you seats people. I do not want to see your black figures doing that awkward run/walk/duck back to your seats while the songs/dialogue has begun.
- Most of all, enjoy the atmosphere of a theater show!

On a side note: go to Wicked. It is ah-mazing.

Uni Make Up Must Haves

Avon Glow Bronzing Pearls - B201 Sunkissed
Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush - Something About Berry
Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder - 220 Natural Beige
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB - Light
Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express
Bourjois Colour Boost - 04 Peach on the Beach
Rimmel Exaggerate Waterprof Eye Definer - 261 Noir

Going to Uni generally means getting up so super early that the sun isn't even awake yet, so make up can be quite challenging for the sleep deprived student population. However, I've found a great routine that works really well for me and i thought that by sharing it with you that maybe the early morning won't mean you leave the house in Zombie mode.

After my morning skincare routine i start with my base. I apply the Maybelline BB cream which i absolutely love! Its so easy to apply and leaves my face felling dewy without coming home and realising my face as been reflecting the sun into everyones eyes. Then with my powder brush i set it with my Mayelline pressed powder which as you can tell is very much loved and used. I find the colour perfect for my skin tone any time of the season and just seems to work really well at making my base, bb cream or foundation, last all day.

Next, i move on to my cheeks and this usually depends on a number of factors to which one i choose, those being my mood, my outfit and the season. Generally when i wear my bb cream because it is so light in coverage compared to my normal foundation the natural flush of my cheeks comes through so i tend to lean towards my Avon bronzing pearls (which is also verging on a replacment). The little pearls vary in shades from dark and deep rose, light brown/beige to what i consider to be an original bronzing of deep browns. Plus it smells ah-mazing! My other cheek choice is my Too Faced Blusher and it is seriously perfect in every way. It consists of the 3 shades of pinky/rose with a shimmer finish and really complements my cheek bones.

For my eyes i usually keep it very simple with my mascara and maybe eyeliner depending on how long i slept in for. At the moment the Maybelline mascara is impressing me, it extends all my lashes and doesn't make it go clumpy. If i have time, i tend to put my Rimmel eye definer along the top lip and extend it out to a very small cat eye flick. I don't really enjoy putting it on my bottom of my eye, i think it makes them look small and bug like, but thats just my personal preference.

Finally, my most favourite part, choosing my lipstick/balm/stain/gloss. Lately I've been reaching for my Bourjois in Peach on the Beach simple because it last so long, doesn't dry my lips out and the shade is so pretty. What more could you want?

And voila, i am ready for a long haul at Uni. I hope this helped you create a go to ridiculously early morning must haves, please leave comments about your experience with these products or what you are grabbing in the morning.

City that never sleeps

Late last night i was a part of the 70+ thousand that flocked to the hallowed turf of the Melbourne Cricket Ground for a classic clash between the Swans and the Hawks which ended in a close battle 10 point margin win to the Hawks on home soil.
Sorry ill end my unoriginal sports editorial domineer and tell you why i wanted to share this seemingly normal and much loved event with you.

Going to a AFL match is one of my most loved and prized memories going back as far as i can remember. Rugging up in too many layers that you begin to fall into the michelin man category of fashion statements, sitting in the nose bleed section (for those of you unfamiliar it is the upper most level of the ground where you become one with the circling birds looking for a chip that the annoying toddler 4 seats, 2 rows done has dropped), cheering till you are sore in the throat and the final siren signals the long march back to the car.

While on the long march to the car with my dad and brother i realised that no matter wether my team won or lost i could never remember the details of the game, and thats not from lack of trying. I remember the car ride into the city of Melbourne, 45-60 min drive from where i live, the jokes and the games that may have ensued along the way, the trouble finding a car park and either myself or my brother running down to find the parking sign to determine if the search was over, the walk to the ground where fellow support give the friendly nod of approval that tonight would be a good one, as if you needed it really when the car ride was that interesting, the frantic rush to find the best general admittance seating in the same vacinity as your teams cheer squad but away from the annoying pack of young adults who won't remember how they even got to the game the next day. Ive traveled and i plan on travelling more but I've never experienced anything like the roar of the mcg crowd. Period.

But my love of the game extends further then just the rules and the sculptured men in tiny shorts running around, it pours out into the city i love, Melbourne. Last night there was a man/women dressed in a Mario costume playing a ukulele for a few coins outside the train station, the pubs/clubs were overflowing and the music and glow of their enticing signs made each street we navigated to the car a little more interested, the pizza place on the corner with the graffiti art you could smell blocks away and the sense that the night was just beginning consumed me. I wanted to explore.. but i also wanted bed and to make jokes with my brother in the car ride home.
So as the city lights faded in the rear view mirror, i will always attend a Swans match in Melbourne, but more so, i will always discover something exciting in my city.

Proudly Melbourne.

Can you have a rest day when you don't even exercise?

Today is finally my day off. Day off from attending Uni, my job at Uni, my other casual job and as of last night tutoring for VCE Psychology but most importantly it is my day off from waking up at 5-6am and boy did it feel good to sleep in past 9am.

I don't take enough time to be grateful for all the opportunities that i have been given and this week really opened my eyes to the possibilities of what i am truly capable of. I don't know why or how i became bound by a set of restrictions that i set for myself but all i know is that i hated them, every single moment of the day there was a part of me that hated that i doubted myself. I woke up Monday morning, not bright eyed or bushy tailed but rather zombie like, knowing that this will possible be one of the hardest most testing weeks so far. I believe that when you are given an opportunity you must make it your duty to do everything perfectly, maybe thats because I'm on the verge of being a perfections or whatever, and I'm so incredibly hard on myself and create this extra amount of stress and almost anxiety to maintain this. But on Monday morning i somehow let it all go. I mean, i was still striving for excellence, i don't think ill every be able to let that go really, why should i aim for anything lower? However, i woke up as a new me, in a cliche kind of way, and accepted that i am so blessed to be alive, happy and heading towards becoming a successful business woman with an amazing partner and family beside me.

So, now that i have completed this week, my 'rest day' will be filled with planning for next week when it all starts again while i inhale the sweet sweet fragrence of my Glasshouse candle (my goodness it is just that good) and play with my puppy.

I passed this week, with flying colours because i wanted to and i couldn't be prouder.

Happy Tuesday

Hellllo everyone!

Welcome to my little blog.

I am your average girl behind a Mac enjoying every waking moment, filled with ups and downs. I never have a dull moment. Working 2 jobs - your local McDonalds employee and at my university while i study to teach future generations at high school about psychology and literature.

I am in a amazing 4 year relationship with my boyfriend. Things have changed recently to more of a long distance relationship. And by long distance i mean he now lives on the other side of the city to me when we use to be less then 10 minutes away.

Online i am absolutely obsessed with researching every new and improved beauty product and reading/watching reviews. As a result, a massive shout out to Zoella who really inspired me to start documenting my enjoyment with beauty products.

So please, enjoy my posts, comment and suggest anything i should try or your own experiences with what i review.

All my love,
GR
